Who We Are

Through the help of community board 4, what use to be an old outdoor gym became a large community garden now called Sparrows Nest. Sparrow's Nest Community Garden is a NYC Parks GreenThumb garden. This is a volunteer run program, meaning no one in the garden group is paid. This is a labor of love and our hard work gives us baskets filled with veggies, fruits, and herbs. We are reimagining what this space looks like and how it functions. We are inviting all community members into the space to become involved with something so vital in our lives... nature! This is a public space, meant to be open 20 hours a week to community members. If you are interested in learning on how to become a member or desire to make your neighborhood beautiful, join us!

What We Do

We bring community members/neighbors together to build together! We will be holding 20 open hours a week to the public during April through November, hosting 2 events per year, and gardening with our neighbors.
