Who We Are
Friends of McGolrick Park (FOM) is a community-led organization of volunteers.
We collaborate with the NYC Parks Department, Assemblymember Gallagher and Councilmember Restler to advocate for park issues. We work with local organizations such as the Brooklyn Public Library, North Brooklyn Mutual Aid, Open Streets Alliance, PS 110 PTA, Local Nature Labs, North Brooklyn Neighbors, McCarren Demo Garden, Greenpoint Art Circle, and NBK Compost. Over 40 local organizations and businesses participated in our 2024 McGhoulrick Halloween event. We are fiscally sponsored by North Brooklyn Parks Alliance.
What We Do
Friends of McGolrick Park (FOM) was relaunched in 2022 to address urgent sanitation issues within the park and since then our mission has been to maintain McGolrick as a healthy, thriving green space. We host monthly cleanups, bird walks, and a robust calendar of community events. FOM works alongside local partners on ecological initiatives, including planting, weeding, and tree maintenance events.
