Uptown Grand Central

Uptown Grand Central got its start in 2013 as the New Harlem East Merchants Association. We are dedicated to transforming East 125th Street into a thriving corridor by delivering programs that put advocacy into action through collaborations with small businesses, residents and neighborhood organizations across East Harlem. 

Our major programs include street cleaning and greening, including our Positive Workforce Clean Team; public art including the Grandscale Mural Project; our annual Winter Lights on street trees along East 125th from Fifth to Second; programming public spaces such as our community plaza under the Park Avenue Viaduct and Open Streets; neighborhood marketing through our social media and Uptown Guide; and creating neighborhood events such as the Harlem Night Market, Party On Park and Hot Chocolate Rides that drive awareness and interest in our local small businesses.
