Community members will learn about the benefits of planting native plants in NYC street tree beds from horticulturists at the Broadway Mall Association. After the West 80s Neighborhood Association presents on the importance of reducing and removing litter from tree beds and sidewalks for environmental and aesthetic reasons, we will lead a sidewalk and tree bed cleanup followed by native plantings in the West 83 - 84th street expanded tree beds and inside the Broadway Mall greenway meridians. Tools will be provided in part from the Sanitation Foundation grant, and this event is part of the NYC Big Spring Clean.
