The West Chelsea Block Association (WCBA) is a group of volunteer residents and business owners representing the blocks from West 25th to West 29th Streets between 10th and 12th Avenues. The association was formed in response to growing quality-of-life concerns in the neighborhood, including persistent sidewalk cleanliness issues, graffiti, and the visible impact of street homelessness.
What We Do
We recruit volunteers through direct outreach to WCBA members via email notices and newsletters, as well as through coordination with local residential buildings, businesses, and galleries in the neighborhood.
We have also begun organizing around our quality-of-life concerns through increased 311 engagement, communication with elected officials and City agencies, and planning for community cleanup initiatives.
